Hey stefan sorry to go OT again with this Rhino plugin but I would be really interested to know if this will work with MOI too? I know it works natively with .3dm format and many c4ders use it already, like yourself. I find it much more refreshing to use than Rhino and im sure it will continue to grow in the right direction so it would be fantastic if this plugin could be MOI compatible too - perhaps it already is if its just reading the .3dm file?
Cheers Rob

hi rhodesy,
it was initially not indented to be used with MOI , i have MOI too, but it is much much more limited than rhino functionwise, also no grasshopper(node based modelling) no panneling tools etc., MIO is nice for little things though, kind of "nurbs sketchup" i own MOI but haven't installed it on my new computer, i can install and test it, as far i remember that MOI does read and write native .3dm files. so it could be indeed be possible to use it also with the plugin, lets see:-) cheers stefan ---------- hi rhodesy, i juts tested and it with one file, on first sight seems our plugin is also MOI3d compatible:-) thanks for pointing this out. maybe with this c4d users can expand cinema4d with both, MOI and/or rhino, - lets see. this needs further testing of course, best greetings stefan

That Moi3D and the rhinoIO plugin might work together sounds good and will be a bit more convenient than the reliable moi .obj export into C4D. The plugin allows a two directional flow with the .3dm files?
Moi is simple and v. fast and I have enjoyed nurbs modeling enough to maybe buy rhino when the economy picks up. Very interesting. Leonard

for MOI i cant promise yet 100 %
i just opened a 3dm in MOI and saved it new from it, that worked fine. at the moment i have no time for that, vray is the most important for now. c4d can write a mesh also to 3dm yes. the main focus is on import though, the export is thought to be able to send helper objects to rhino. the plugin uses the merge command and automatically recognizes if you have this objects layers, groups etc already. it also imports named views(cameras) , lights and hierarchical layers. you can move regroup change layer etc. the plugin will still update the object correctly or add new objects into the right layers:-) more info really only short before rhinoIO is f due to release. cheers stefan

Are you planning to make it possible to Net-Render with Vray on many Macs at one Frame? We need it to speed up everything for Production (like in FinalRenderer) best regards Kalle Koerner/www.slice-production.de |

yes, this feature is called distributed rendering ("DR") and is in works yes. it isnt ready yet for 1.2, but comes from in an free update as soon Renato has finished it.
(i am "burning" myself to get this, 10 mac pros wait here for DR ![]() over NET you can render at the moment with slices that you can set together in psd. we have built in some little helpers in vray to make that relatively easy. DR itself will not render vie NET but over a vray protocol. this is faster. best greetings stefan

no c4d's texture baking is sadly not possible with 3d party renders,
it is on our task list, but will need some changes from c4d probably too to make that possible. cheers stefan
